Superior logistics. Worldwide

The great natural harbour of Maputo was discovered in 1498 by Vasco da Gama and lies in the Southern part of Mozambique on the estuary of Rio Espirito Santo. Apart from Mozambique's import and export cargo, the port is handling cargos for landlocked countries Botswana, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. It is the closest deepsea harbour to Johannesburg, Mpumalanga and Limpopo and is handling a growing traffic from South Africa.
A succesful privatisation concession awarded in 2000 resulted in the Maputo Port Development Company (MPDC) taking over the port management. The privatisation program resulted in major developments on the deepening of the harbour approach, security and building of internal roads and rail connections.
The port is connected to a road and railway system reaching Johannesburg, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Zimbabwe and Swaziland.
