Lome port, modernized in 1968, offers more then 2600 meters of deep water quay. Lome port is the Togo port for import/export as well as a transit port for landlocked countries such as Niger and Mali. Main export commodities exported are cocoa, sulfur, cotton and palm oil products. Large warehouses dedicated to import , export and transit cargos offers a safe guarding place for cargos in the port area. 200,000 m2 of open storage area and 3 hectares of second hand car storage space facilities are available as well. Above that Lome port has dedicated berths for gypsum,clinker ans sulfur operations and an oil wharf for the handling of petroleum products .
